RIGOROUS TESTING BY INDEPENDENT LABORATORIES
The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) studied the impact of eight different closures on the sensorial and chemical attributes of a premium wine over 36 month period. In the same study, UNIQ showed the absence of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and the lowest level of dimethyl sulfide (DMS) thus scoring with the best sensory attributes of roundness and fruitiness.
THE SUCCESS OF WINEMAKING TRIALS
UNIQ has been tested by the most prestigious wineries, as well as approved by the Comité Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne after undergoing rigorous testing.
Dimethyl sulfide (DMS) is produced from the breakdown of a sulfur-containing amino acid. DMS is well-known to be a fruity exhauster. Wines closed with UNIQ measured with the lowest level of dimethyl sulfide.
A range of volatile sulfur compounds can be present in wine, with some responsible for unwanted ‘reductive’ aromas. Wines closed with UNIQ measured the lowest level of dimethyl sulfide and the absence of hydrogen sulfide.
UNIQ offers excellent pressure resistance exceeding the standard of top sparkling wine producers around the world. AWRI independent study shows UNIQ with the lowest CO2 loss and the highest pressure retention 27 months after bottling.
